Dr. Norman Childers - The Grand Old Man of Horticulture
American Fruit Grower, May 2005

A great article and interview which outlines the spectacular career and life of Dr. Childers.  His early work "Daily Rate of Photosynthesis During the Growing Season of a Young Apple Tree" is one of the classic papers in horticultural science.  Completed in 1935, it is still being referenced today.  Dr. Childers is internationally known and has been receiving awards and accolades since 1933.  During his career in education, he has trained over 70 graduate students along with establishing endowments and awards.

Currently celebrating its 125th anniversary, American Fruit Grower magazine has been on the cutting edge of providing fruit growers information on production, crop protection, varieties, marketing, and more.  Over 37,000 copies are circulated every month to horticulturalists and industry professionals.
